CNIPA Will Issue New Patent Certificate

National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC (CNIPA) has published its No.286 announcement recently that it will issue a new version of patent certificate and its copy in accordance with the provisions of Article 39 and 40 of the Patent Law of the People’s Republic of China. The relevant matters are hereby listed as follows:
1. CNIPA will issue a new version of patent certificate and its copy with authorization date after December 4th, 2018(including the day).
2. For patent with authorization date before December 4th, 2018, CNIPA will issue the existing version of patent certificate and its copy.
3. Both of the existing version and the new version are of the equal legal effect. Except for other regulation, certificate and its copy that have been issued will not be replaced by new ones.
4. No envelope for the new certificate and its copy. The new certificate and its copy will still be adapted to A4 sheet with vertical layout, and it will be printed in both front and back. The spot for stamp tax in the front will be replaced by QR code, and the stamp tax will be placed in the back. No emblem or seal in the back except frame around. Besides, information about applicant, inventor and designer on the filing date will be added in the back.
