Professional Experience                                                                                                    After getting his BS degree in Dyeing and Finishing Engineering from China Textile University in Shanghai, Mr. Fan joined CCPIT Patent & Trademark Law Office in 1984. Mr. Fan acquired a diploma in English language from Beijing Normal University in 1985 and in German language from University of International Business and Economics in 1989. From November 1990 to April 1992, he had studied German and European patent law and practiced successively in the German Patent Office, German Federal Patent Court, the Patent and License Department of the former Hoechst AG in Frankfurt and an IP Law Firm in Munich. In July 1995, he studied further in Patent and License Department of BASF AG in Ludwigshafen.

Mr. Fan's practice is focused mainly on patent prosecution and enforcement. He has handled a large number of patent prosecution cases in the fields of dye, polymers, fibers, pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals, and has rich experiences in the patent reexamination and invalidation proceedings, administrative protection of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, licenses and agreements of patents and patent enforcement.

Mr. Fan was deputy director of chemical division of CCPIT Patent & Trademark Law Office from 1993 to 1996. From Sep. 1996 to June 2002, Mr. Fan was appointed Chief Representative of Munich Office of CCPIT Patent & Trademark Law Office. During this period, he gave lectures on Chinese Patent Law in companies such as BASF AG, Aventis Pharma Deutschland GmbH, Henkel AG, Merck KGaA, and Ciba Specialty Chemicals Inc.

Mr. Fan is the author of Chapter "Patent & Trademark Protection in China" of the book "Doing Business in China".

Mr. Fan joined China Sinda Intellectual Property Ltd. in September 2002.
