Professional Experience
Dr. Zhang practices in all areas of intellectual property law and focuses on patent
prosecution, litigation and counseling. He is also experienced in administrative
proceedings for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in
matters such as patent and trademark protection and anti-counterfeiting.
Dr. Zhang is an attorney at law and registered patent attorney in the United States, and
had practiced in major U.S. law firms for many years before joining China Sinda.
He has helped clients obtain, protect and enforce patents around the world, as well as
in China and the U.S. Dr. Zhang also counsels and provides opinions to clients
regarding patent validity, infringement and enforcement, and advises clients on the
creation, management and leverage of their patent portfolios on a global basis.
Dr. Zhang is experienced in patent litigation before the People¨s Court and patent
invalidation proceedings before the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO). He is
one of few individuals who have argued before both the Board of Patent Appeals and
Interferences in the U.S. and the Patent Reexamination Board in China. He is also
experienced in administrative proceedings at provincial and local agencies for the
protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, and has helped clients
successfully combat counterfeiting and piracy that involve patents, trademarks and
copyrights.
